Emerald Mine just got updated with "support for mini arcade cabinet" and is now universal so that it also runs on iPhone: http://itunes.apple....02032?mt=8&ls=1

Just tested it with the iCade: set control to joypad and touch the screen once after the level has started. Lower red button is fire, lower white is menu/options, upper white is pause.

And it seems you should grab "Flashback" from manomio at its reduced price right now because there will be an iCade-Update for it very soon according to manomio... http://itunes.apple....28612?mt=8&ls=1

I dunno exactly how, but I'm gonna make a video as well, playin' the MSX.emu on my 40". Already did test it and worked great. Just need to set up my compactcamera to make the video ;)

Yes the image will suck....stupid compactcamera's, but we'll see.

Thanks. Tested and confirmed Emerald Mine. It's a bit clunky though, on the iControlPad you can't "roll" the D-Pad to another direction, you have to physically lift your finger off and press the new direction. In my tests, particularly in Super Mega Worm, you could roll the D-Pad easily to any direction and hit diagonals effortlessly. I think the implementation is a little ropey in Emerald Mine, but it's a good start!

Ahhhh, Boulder Dash... how I was addicted to you!

Just got a mail from Les Bird, the developer of emerald mine:

"I'm fixing the start screen issue in the next release.
You should set it to "arcade" control when using the iCade.
The next update will also have better menu control with the iCade."

Good news! Is he aware of the iControlPad?

I have updated my list to state the iCade mode requirements of the iControlPad: currently an iPhone 3Gs or newer is required, your iOS device *must* have HID support. Support table shown here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3647

Last night "Interstellar Force" by David Molnar for iOS received an update for "Bluetooth game controllers". It now supports the icontrolpad.
I've tested it with my iCP and it's working great. Thanks David!
Please add this game to the compatibility list:

I just logged in to post about Interstellar Force and you beat me to it :) Thanks Johnny Ice for posting about it :)

If anyone has any difficulty, Interstellar Force requires you to power up your iControlPad with A+B+X held down during power on (iCade compatible mode). It should just work by default provided you have the game control method set to touch mode (the game default).

You don't mind if I quiz you later about adding support to my apps do you? I'm going to write a guide for the website, maybe do a video.

Awesome news! This is truly what the iControlPad was made for!

Craig: I'm up for building out a dedicated "developers" page for iControlPad.com when I get back, to include videos, downloads, instructions and whatnot.

Heh - I remember playing Flashback on my Amiga... is that game even playable with touchscreen controls?
I remember it had VERY accurate and delicate controls :o

I've actually played through many levels of the game; the touch controls are indeed a bit more frustrating, but they are more than workable with practice. Still, it feels a lot better with the iCP :)

No worries at all mate - more than happy to help!

BTW, I actually created a very stripped down version of SDL which has iCADE / iControlPad support. It is just the pieces necessary to run iAmiga, Flashback and soon C64. I will publish this as a separate framework at some point in addition to incorporating the actual code for the official SDL library too.

Hey guys,

I'm the developer who ported Emerald Mine to the iDevices. Just wanted to let you know that I have another source code branch of iMame4all on my website for non-jailbroken devices. It requires that you compile the code yourself for your device - Xcode project is included. In addition I added native iControlPad support using the special packet mode so you can use the analog nubs for games like Robotron.

See my web page for more information:
