Essential Topics

Because the wall of pinned topics is both getting underwhelming, and preventing any new, useful or interesting threads from being pinned, I present this collated list of previously pinned topics for your reading pleasure:

Blutrol for iPhone - Add controls to any app.
Known to many as the "Game Changer" Blutrol allows you to map iControlPad buttons to simulated screen touches on your jailbroken iOS device.

Advanced Stuff

Test firmware 2.3 http://boards.openpa...post__p__125398

Test firmware 2.1a. This firmware adds a toggle key combo to summon the soft keyboard in any HID keyboard mode (iCade mode, for example). Also includes better nub self-calibration and, thus, should have better nub response/feel.

FAQ / Information

The official iControlPad website has come along nicely, for support with updating your iControlPad you can visit the support page here: http://icontrolpad.com/support

For iControlPad software compatibility you can visit the shiny new page here: http://icontrolpad.com/node/22

If you have questions about the iControlPad, please read the Wiki first:

http://pandorawiki.org/IControlPad

Furthermore, there is now also a dedicated compatibility page for tracking compatibility with clamp sets and emulators. If you use the clamps with a particular phone, and can provide a photo showing it the fit, please add it.

Compatibility page here: http://pandorawiki.o...d_Compatibility

Just realised that the search links don't go directly to search results. Replaced with a guide.

Hi guys,...

I have followed the IControlPad creation through month and I have never got an answer for this:

Are there Clamps for the nexus one from google?
Does the IControlPad fit for the nexus one?

Please answer me.

Greetings from Austria/Europe.

Are there Clamps for the nexus one from google?

Not specifically. No. The clamps are generic and will be available in varying sizes to fit as many phones as possible.

Does the IControlPad fit for the nexus one?

This is currently untested, however we can work out approximately whether or not it will fit in the current clamp set by looking at phones that do.

Nexus One Dimensions: 119 x 59.8 x 11.5 mm

Known to fit:

iPhone 3Gs Dimensions: 115 x 62 x 12.3 mm

LG Ally Dimensions: 116 x 56 x 16 mm

iPhone 4: 115.2 x 58.6 x 9.3mm

Your phones width is all good. However that atypically long 119mm means that the Nexus One will probably not fit in the currently shipping clamp set without a little hackery.

The good news, however, is that you may well just be able to replace half of that clamp set to get a good fit. And the team are looking into alternate clamps at the moment.

I have updated the Wiki with dimensions, to help people take an educated guess as to whether or not their phone of choice will fit the currently shipping clamp set. And, in future, any given clamp set.

The tested range of the current clamp set is 108 to 115mm, excluding the iPhone 4, we should very quickly see more results once they start shipping.

Where are the actual dimensions of the iControlPad. Specifically I need to know the thickness of it. And the clamp dimensions if possible.

Thanks :)

This page is still out of date, although an effort which will ultimately result in it being updated can now be found on these very forums: http://boards.openpa...upporting-apps/

Out of curiosity, will the iCP work with consoles, such as PS3 or WII?

The short answer is no.

The long answer: It has the potential to run on a *hacked* PS3 or Wii, but due to both of these devices already having controllers, it's very unlikely anyone would be interested in making it work for either. So, ultimately also no. It would be nice with the Wii, in particular, if you're volunteering :)

Yeah, I'm not too sure what the use would be as well...in terms of price anyway, because acquiring a PS3 controller is cheaper than an iControlPad?

Oh it could work, but it would require a firmware which used their almost certainly copyrighted protocol.

I was just curious. I don't really have the need.

I can imagine a scenario where it would be convenient though.

Particularly for the Wii, which I tend to run emulators on from time to time.
