Sweet! Will be waiting till this Thursday to purchase the 1ghz new unit, once that has arrived here I will return the previous one ( no battery, saves on weight and isn't needed since I have three already. I'll make sure to mention I just need the unit itself, battery door, stylus, but no battery in the order if I can so you can save the time packing it. )
I also want to send you the USB NIC as well which does this, in case you can't replicate the issue. Should be easy enough to find another one for me at a local radio shack etc.
At the time of sending the original 1ghz back I will be sending my CC unit in for the following reasons:
New Case - cracked slightly in a few places and currently held together with gorilla glue for screw taps, I would like a platinum case for better build quality but need a way to differentiate between the two units at first glance.. hmm... Have the black cases been fixed so they don't crack easily? If so I would like the CCUnit to remain in a black case please.
New Right Nub - After the past few years of usage of the nub, it doesn't work right and feels loose compared to the newer nub on the left I had replaced by you later on after purchase.
New Volume Wheel - I've talked about this before. Static bursts, audio cutting in and out when adjusting and if I don't get it just right the balance isn't centered. Contact cleaner didn't help, and unfortunately this became worse to the point where it became painful to use at all. I tried before sealing to reheat the solder joints with a fine tip iron, didn't burn anything, but didn't make a difference in the problem. Its likely bent out of shape slightly inside as when I received it back from the second PTOD fix (Under Warranty, fixed by you) it was and still has been consistently clicking against the case.
Right SD slot - Doesn't give a second click when accepting a card. Not sure if that's a case positioning fault or the slot itself. Never seemed to matter as it held the card and read / wrote and released just fine all the time anyway, just a minor thing that became a quirk of the unit itself.
Poor Wifi Performance - Unless I do "sudo iwconfig wlan0 power off rate 54M" its practically unusable. My 1ghz unit is somewhat better with this, and more stable. Not sure why as I often don't have to bother with the above terminal command unless I'm doing x11vnc over it, or something heavier than SSH.
None of this is me being upset, just stating what I would like to have repaired.
I await your reply ED :-) Thank you all, OPT, for being awesome and really sticking through this whole project. <3
