What I really think is missing are as follows:

- analogue iCP nub support to make games like Death Race fully playable with the nubs. This is essential and would result in a lot of new games being fully supported. Analogue support should also include the two-stick mode of e.g. Minigore (HD).

- adding continuous touch simulation is also very important. Unfortunately, tons of games (for example, GTA3 or NBA Jam) use adaptive D-pads and in most of these cases this just can't be disabled. This could be fixed by a checkbox saying "continuously inject the coordinates of the center of the D-pad to the app" and a similar code. That is, when you initially set up the position of the D-pad in BluTrol, the center point's coordinate should ALWAYS be virtually "touched" for these games to correctly work and not try to always relocate the D-pad to the new position.

I've tried playing GTA3 in the way a previous poster stated ("grand theft auto 3 works great, the move ment with the dpad for when your guy is on foot doesn't work as well but if u press and hold the dpad right in centre then start pressing in different directions you can control him kinda ok.") Unfortunately, the way of control described is pretty much useless and even worse than using the on-screen D-pad.

Happy days!

I still get asked once a week whether or not the iControlPad will play CoD.

Actual quote from YouTube:

can i use it to play call of duty world at war nazi zombies or black ops zombies?

*facepalm*

That's fantastic! Do you have any further details? Will it proper nub support, or just letting you use it in place of dpad? (proper in the sense that it'll work for games like GTA3)

It's proper, conforming to the HID standards I believe.

It did take a long time just to get Blutrol in any form. But who knows? Maybe adding additional support won't take so long.

You can already use the left nub instead of the d-pad with the latest 2.2 test build posted 4 days ago. Of course, it only emulates digital.

Great! $7 well spent.

Awesome! I hope it won't be a long wait. After this I actually don't have any further requests, I think it will be 100% what I ever wanted my iControlPad to do. This topic will be so quiet...

I was wondering if I would be able to use this with slot machine apps as well. I tried it out with Geisha and hasn't worked. I absolutely love having icade mode for games

Nevermind I got it to work :)

I have it set up so my iPad is connected to the 64" plasma and I press the start button to spin

Any timeframe for the analogue iCP update?

Quite the contrary, in fact, I think you'll find people are too busy using it to post here :D

I would just about kill for this to get an Android port. I ditched my iPhone for an Xperia Play because I was really tired of touchscreen only controls, so an Android port would be just about perfect.

It's probably not going to be easy though, since the method for injecting touch events on Android is probably different than that of doing so in iOS.

I’ve come up with a suggestion, but I don’t really know if it would work, but I’d like to be able to map volume buttons for screen taps. This would be super-effective for book readers.

Here's my Reckless Racing 2 config (iPad):

http://dl.dropbox.co...utrolconfig.jpg

As you can see, I've reorganized the buttons so that the brake / gas can also be accessed via the D-pad. However, I've also added a separate button to gas too - that is, giving gas can be done by both "up" and the button.

With Blutrol, the game runs just fine on the iPad 2.

Is there a good way to map out gpsPhone? I've tried mapping it, but when I start only the A button responds. Anybody have a good layout of it that I could see?

For gpsphone I would advise against blutrol, the diagonals do not map properly at all due to the crappy dpad programmed into it. Stick to original icade support and use firmware 2.2 and aby mode, its the layout is pefect with all the buttons where you expect them to be. If like me you tried to add blutrol in already its really hard to get rid of the blutrol profile, even after deleting it from the blutrol list the profile remains. T0umas9 said he managed to delete the files pointing to it, but I have yet to find out which files they are, hasnt replied to my pm yet. Currently I have blutrol deleted so that gpsphone works, but as the profiles dont delete if i reinstall my profiles are still working, just not viewable.
