  1. Wifi problems

As stated earlier in the post, tried all 'fixes' within this post to no avail.
  2. Wifi problems

I'm not running any pnds, the only application open is a terminal window. When I do try to browse the net, I use the latest midori and haven't had any problems with that, except of course if I try to download anything > 5MB or so. Then the connection drops and the 'authentication loop' continues until wifi is toggled off and on.
  3. Wifi problems

Tried straight after the driver installation, then rebooted and tried again with no joy. Likewise with changes to dhcp and static configurations. It seems to me (in my limited wisdom) that the wifi module is unloading itself whilst in the middle of a data transfer, as if it's losing the keepalives from the AP. Reminds me of problems with p2p transfers when upload is set too high and the connection floods and drops out until it's reset, but surely that's not the problem here is it? Maybe something to do with the rate control settings? Did you have the same sort of problems as I have, or does it just drop out whenever? Edit: How do you do spoiler tags?
  4. Wifi problems

Strange, pretty sure I selected the file with Midori. Thanks for the info Tam, tried that and when I first opened the browser, my scp connection restarted, but then died again. After that once the connection dies it doesn't come back without toggling wifi. Alerino, tried all of those options but still the same results. I don't know how much information dmesg gives, but I've attached a second output I took directly after trying to scp the same 10meg file using Notaz's driver. Don't know whether there will be anything different but you never know. 10test2.txt 10test.txt
  5. Panorama

Absolutely loving this project, really hope this progresses as welll as it has been recently. This could easily be the 'draw' that people seem to want to bring people in to pandoraland. Reminds me a little of the Playbook UI, and I think it could do more or less the same job, without the multi-tasking running apps of course.
  6. Wifi problems

I was one of the unlucky few to receive a pandora with one of the faulty wifi modules, and after a bit of communication with the team I was sent a replacement pandora. I start off with this comment as I have never seen 'normal' wifi use. Although the connection isn't the fastest, I'm able to browse the net pretty well (I'm composing this post on the pandora now) but I had problems with using the pndstore. Basically it would run through it's checks and start updating, and then hang. I quickly realised that the problem was my connection had dropped out. So I toggled wifi off and on and restarted pndstore, but the same problem occurred. To test that it indeed was my connection and not a pndstore problem (haven't seen anybody really complaining about this app) I created a few data files on my pc for use in testing. I tried to scp a 10meg file from my home pc to the pandora but the connection would always drop out before the transfer completed. This happens every time I attempt to scp, and the only way to get my connection back is to toggle wifi off and on again. I've attached a dmesg output for anyone that would like a look and who could help me out here as I'm assuming not too many people have this problem?
  7. Reminds me a little of an old C64 game, Nebulus.
  8. RMA's

It's here! Just received my new pandora, and apart from the left nub feeling very loose, it's all good. Best of all it connected to my wireless LAN with no problems. I am once again a very happy bunny, so thank you to all that helped make that happen.
  9. RMA's

The waiting is not nearly as bad as it was before, hopefully be with me on Wednesday/Thursday.
  10. RMA's

Thanks, and so am I. Just received my 'Your pandora has been shipped' mail, now I'm excited all over again.
  11. RMA's

Just received a call from Jacqueline (she really is awesome) with sincere apologies about not being able to pick up the RMA'd pandora. She also confirmed that they would take delivery of it tomorrow from DHL, and send my new unit out to me today. As an aside, I understand completely why 'personal' numbers aren't published, especially for a project that has had so many problems, but in RMA instances there really should be more information given as to who the recipient will be. Still, can't fail to be impressed by such a small band of workers who are obviously doing the best they can in difficult circumstances.
  12. RMA's

Also just sent a PM to Craig about this. I'm getting more and more upset about the fact that it seems pretty impossible to get in touch with anyone about this (disregarding email as I know they have a backlog seeing as my mails aren't getting read until after about 3 days).
  13. RMA's

Just tried the number again and still the same message about only being open from 10 to 4. Anyone got any contact numbers I could try?
  14. RMA's

First thing I did via email, and tried to call, but the number is only open from 10am til 4pm Mon to Fri.
  15. RMA's

For those that have had to send their pride and joys away, how have your experiences been? I'm only asking as I sent mine back last week Monday (one of the 8 or so with u/s wife modules) and was just wondering when I'd be getting that lovely email to say that a Pandora had been sent to me. When I checked the DHL site to see when they'd received it, I was pretty surprised to see that 2 delivery attempts had been made and now the Pandora is on hold. This brings me to the crux of the matter, as I'm recovering from my fifth knee operation in 3 years my wife said she'd get it sent from work, seeing as it would just be a quick turnaround. However, now that it's in hold, they'll call her as the sender to ask what to do, and whether to attempt again to a specific person. To do that though I'll need a contact number and a name to give them, and I don't have those. How has everyone else gone about this? I ordered through Craig, and sent it back to the website address that was given to me by Jacqueline. I have to add that although I've had good contact over the past 2 years whenever I've had issues, I'm really hacked off with this, simply because my wife will get grief for doing me a favour and a couple of failed delivery attempts.
